Football Recap: Hauppauge Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Hauppauge extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-3. They were outmatched by the Sayville Golden Flashes and fell 62-14. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Golden Flashes are ranked 13th).

Despite the loss, Hauppauge still got an impressive performance from Liam Oconnor, who rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.

As for Sayville, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sayville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Timmy Holahan, who rushed for 90 yards and three scores on only 12 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Frank Hanley, who rushed for 78 yards and one TD on only seven carries.

Looking ahead, Hauppauge will look to defend their home field on Friday against Half Hollow Hills West at 6:00 p.m. The Eagles will be up against the Colts' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Sayville, they are taking a road trip to take on Smithtown West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
