Baseball Recap: St. James Takes a Loss

St. James was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wando Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sharks of the 8-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2019.

St. James got a good showing from Jacob Herrick, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

St. James' loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Wando, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. James will host Myrtle Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. St. James' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Myrtle Beach's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Wando, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against West Ashley at 6:30 p.m.
