Softball Game Preview: Tolleson Wolverines vs. Verrado Vipers

The Tolleson Wolverines will take on the Verrado Vipers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Tolleson took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Alhambra as Tolleson made off with a 17-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won seven in a row.

Lilliana Reyes tossed a big game, not allowing a single hit and allowed only two earned runs while striking out six over five innings pitched. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, Alisson Martinez was a standout: she scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Sara Ramirez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Verrado entered their tilt with Chaparral on Saturday with six consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Firebirds 16-4.
