Softball Game Preview: Lafayette Central Catholic Knights vs. Benton Central Bison

The Lafayette Central Catholic Knights are taking a road trip to square off against the Benton Central Bison at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lafayette Central Catholic has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 14.

Lafayette Central Catholic lost 20-3 to West Lafayette on Wednesday.

Lafayette Central Catholic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Auna Silver, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Benton Central came up short against Twin Lakes on Wednesday and fell 12-7.

Mariyah Rich made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Kennedy Dowell also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Benton Central has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

Lafayette Central Catholic might still be hurting after the 13-7 loss they got from Benton Central in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
