Softball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Notre Dame's Tenth in Last 11 Outings

Notre Dame never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Terra Nova with a sharp 11-0 victory. Considering Notre Dame has won ten games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Hailey Truong was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Skylar Loo, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Notre Dame is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Terra Nova, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame will square off against Sequoia at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Ravens will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Terra Nova, they will take on Half Moon Bay at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.43 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
