Baseball Game Preview: Big Bear Bears vs. Banning Broncos

The Big Bear Bears are taking a road trip to face off against the Banning Broncos on Monday.

Big Bear is headed into the match having just suffered their closest loss since March 9, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Twentynine Palms by a score of 11-9.

Big Bear saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brennen Berge, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Banning was able to grind out a solid victory over Fontana on Saturday, taking the game 6-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Broncos.

The team relied heavily on Joe Clark, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-4. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Osornio, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Banning was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fontana only posted a batting average of .217.

Big Bear's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Banning, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.

Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Big Bear has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. However, it's not like Banning struggles in that department as they've averaged .514. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
