Volleyball Recap: Arrupe Jesuit Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Arrupe Jesuit waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Englewood Pirates. The Generals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pirates, too.

Arrupe Jesuit walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-21, 25-18.

Their offense was headlined by Ashley Padilla Martinez and Daphne Castillo, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Caroline Minjarez and her eight assists. Padilla Martinez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Arrupe Jesuit's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Englewood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Arrupe Jesuit wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against DSST: College View on the 3rd. As for Englewood, they will venture away from home to face off against Manual at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
