Softball Recap: Poteet Has No Trouble Against Riverside

While Poteet put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Riverside. The Poteet Pirates were the clear victor by an 18-0 margin over the Riverside Rangers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Faith Castellanos made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and only a hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Castellanos was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Poteet let Arianna Figueroa and Ayshah Patterson loose on the outfield. Figueroa went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Patterson scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Eleana Rosales, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Poteet's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Riverside, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Poteet didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-3 loss against Shadow Creek on the 14th. As for Riverside, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 11-1 defeat against Eastwood on the 18th.
