Football Recap: Coal City Skates Past Bloom with Ease

Coal City never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-0 victory over the Bloom Blazing Trojan. Given the Coalers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Blazing Trojan are ranked 355th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Coal City now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Bloom, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Coal City and Bloom will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Coalers are set to face off against their familiar foe Streator at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Bloom will square off against rival Thornridge at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
