Volleyball Recap: Pickens Comes Up Short

Pickens lost against White County back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Dragons fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1. While the Dragons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 25-21 in the first set.

Pickens started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-13, 15-7.

Edy Wyngaard paced Pickens' offense, picking up ten kills. Wyngaard got some help from Sophia Derstine and her 12 assists.

Pickens' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6. As for White County, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.

Coincidentally, Pickens and White County will both be playing West Hall the next time they take the court. The Warriors will host the Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Dragons will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
