Recap: Red Bay Tigers vs. Tanner Rattlers
After flying high against the Falkville Blue Devils last Friday, The Red Bay Tigers came back down to earth. Red Bay was dealt a 46-14 loss at the hands of Tanner on Friday. Red Bay was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Tanner apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Despite the defeat, Red Bay saw an underclassman step up: Jaxon Vinson rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown.
Tanner's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tailin Hall led the charge by rushing for 94 yards on only nine carries, while also picking up 51 receiving yards. Karl Parham was another key contributor, throwing for 209 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes.
Red Bay's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-3. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.7 points per game. As for Tanner, the win was the seventh in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Red Bay will take on Hatton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tanner, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Booneville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Booneville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
