Basketball Game Preview: Amanda Elzy Panthers vs. Edwards Tigers

Amanda Elzy hasn't had much luck against Edwards recently, but that could start to change on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Amanda Elzy Panthers challenge the Edwards Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Amanda Elzy is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 16th straight game dating back to last season two weeks ago. They fell 55-44 to O'Bannon. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Greenwaves are ranked 133rd).

Meanwhile, Edwards ended up a good deal behind Cleveland Central on Saturday and lost 53-35. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now lost five in a row.

Edwards' defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Amanda Elzy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-15.
