Softball Recap: Gulf Shores Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

Gulf Shores picked up another tournament win on Friday. They came out on top against the Chattanooga Christian Chargers by a score of 9-5.

The team relied heavily on Taylor Bjorgum, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lila Kaiser, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.

Gulf Shores is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-13-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Chattanooga Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-6.

Looking ahead, Gulf Shores will take on Wakulla in a tournament on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Dolphins 3.9, the War Eagles 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Chattanooga Christian, they will be taking part in a tournament against Spanish Fort at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
