Basketball Recap: West Carroll Takes a Loss

West Carroll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 38-30 to the Warren Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Thunder of the 57-45 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Warren found their leader in freshman Lizzy Hartzell, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hartzell has scored all season. Averi Sabinson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

West Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Warren, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-11.

West Carroll has already played their next match (against East Dubuque), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Warren didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-41 defeat against River Ridge/Scales Mound on the 28th.
