Football Recap: Alex Aspiras' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Independence over Yerba Buena + How To Watch

Independence came into this matchup off a tough 44-point defeat two weeks ago. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors by a score of 26-23 on Thursday. On the bright side, the 23- point effort marked the 76ers' highest-scoring game to date.

Independence lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Alex Aspiras, who rushed for 115 yards and one TD. Chase Pagaduan was another key player, rushing for 71 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries.

Independence is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3. As for Yerba Buena, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-2.
