Flag Football Recap: Green Mountain Piles Up the Points Against Evergreen + How To Watch

While Green Mountain put up plenty of points on Saturday, the same can't be said for Evergreen. The Rams blew past the Cougars 45-0. Considering the Rams have won seven games by more than 25 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Green Mountain found their leader in sophomore Marissa VanGuilder, who picked up 117 receiving yards and four scores. Thanks to that big game, VanGuilder is now up to 23 receiving touchdowns on the season.

Green Mountain didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Scarlet Thomsen and Ella Cockrum. Thomsen is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as she's now made seven or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Green Mountain pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.3 points on average over those games. As for Evergreen, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.

Green Mountain wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 34-30 loss against Chatfield on the 29th. As for Evergreen, they have also already played their next matchup, a 14-8 victory against Standley Lake on the 30th.
