The Mullen Mustangs will head out to  face off against the Grandview Wolves  at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Both come into the  match bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Mullen can't be too worried about heading out to take on Grandview: they just beat Arapahoe at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Mullen walked away with  a   54-47  win over Arapahoe  on Friday.

 Mullen can attribute much of their success to   Makenzie Jones, who  went 6-for-13  to rack up 19 points and eight  boards, and   Tatum Jones, who  went 6-for-11  on her way to 16  points along with seven  rebounds and four  steals. With that strong performance,  Makenzie is now averaging an impressive 15 points per game. Another player making a difference was  Chloe Pelster, who  posted eight  points.
Meanwhile, Grandview had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.3 points) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Friday. They claimed a resounding  79-12 victory over the Buffaloes. The Wolves' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  points they've scored all season.
Mullen better keep an eye on  Sienna Betts. She was instrumental in Grandview's win,  almost  dropping  a triple-double with 28 points, 17  rebounds,  and nine  assists. Betts has been hot for a while, having  posted nine or more  boards the last 41 times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Maya Smith, who  went 8-for-10  en route to 21  points in addition to six  rebounds and four  steals.
 Grandview was working as a unit and  finished the game with 22  assists. That's the most  assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.
 Grandview's win was  their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 18-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 61.5 points over those games. As for Mullen, their record now sits at 13-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest:  Mullen has been smashing the glass this season,  having  averaged 26  boards per game. However, it's not like Grandview struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 30  rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
 Mullen ended up a good deal behind  Grandview when the teams last played  back in January, losing  51-34. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of   Betts, who  dropped  a double-double with 27 points and 17  boards.
