            Softball Recap: Southern Christian Patriots vs. Evangel Christian Lightning        
        
		
        
        
            Southern Christian extended their losing streak  to three  on Friday, dropping their season record down to 2-14 in the process. They came up short against  the Evangel Christian Lightning, falling  17-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lightning this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  11-1  back in March.
As for Evangel Christian,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 18-9. The result was nothing new for the Lightning, who have now won 14 games by seven  runs or more  so far this season.
 For Evangel Christian's part, they let  Lilli Whitfield and  Raylee Evans run wild. Whitfield  went a perfect 2-for-2 with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and two  RBI, while  Evans  went a perfect 2-for-2 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple. Those  three  stolen bases gave  Whitfield a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Makayla Cranford, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI.
 We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Southern Christian will  challenge  rival Ezekiel Academy  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Meanwhile, Evangel Christian is set to  take on  their familiar foe Wiregrass  at 4:30  p.m.  on Saturday.
