Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Aliyah Salmon and Sophia Faraci Lead Port Chester to Victory

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Port Chester). They put the hurt on the Haldane Blue Devils with a sharp 63-41 win on Saturday. The Rams pushed the score to 51-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Blue Devils cut but never quite recovered from.

Leading Port Chester to victory were Sophia Faraci and Aliyah Salmon. Faraci went 9 of 20 on her way to 19 points, while Salmon posted 21 points. Faraci is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Alyssa Gagon was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Port Chester and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Haldane, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Port Chester will venture away from home to square off against Haldane at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Haldane, they will head out to face off against Hamilton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
