Beecher put another one in the bag  on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  3-1  victory over the Pontiac Indians. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Bobcats have posted  since April 14th.
 Ava Lorenzatti spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than nine  strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Makenzie Johnson, who  went 2-for-4 with one  home run and two  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ava Olson, who  went 1-for-2 with one  home run.
 They weren't the only ones working in the  home run department: Beecher  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Beecher's victory was  their 25th straight on the road dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 21-0. As for Pontiac,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 12-5.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beecher will host Lincoln-Way East  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Griffins' pitching crew has only allowed 1.6  runs per game  this season, so the Bobcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Pontiac, they will welcome Monticello  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sages have averaged an impressive 9.2  runs per game this season.
