Baseball Recap: Coleman Drops Highest Score of Season Against Winters

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coleman). Everything went their way against the Winters Blizzards on Friday as Coleman made off with a 21-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Bluecats, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Hunter Edington made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kyle Bowers, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Ethan DelaRosa was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Coleman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.

Coleman pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Winters, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4-1.

Looking ahead, Coleman will take on Cisco at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Winters, they will square off against Bangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
