Basketball Recap: Jacob Walker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mullen over Sandhills/Thedford

Mullen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 59-46 to the Sandhills/Thedford Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Broncos of the 51-20 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Mullen lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jacob Walker, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ben Werner, who posted 16 points.

Mullen's record is now 5-12. As for Sandhills/Thedford, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.

Looking ahead, Mullen will head out to challenge Sandhills Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sandhills/Thedford, they will be playing at home against Cody-Kilgore on Friday.
