Softball Recap: Riverdale Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Riverdale was not the first on the board on Monday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged out the Sherrard Tigers 10-8. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rams also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Katie Cox was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Claire Beeler was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Riverdale has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Sherrard, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2.

Looking ahead, Sherrard is taking a road trip to face off against Galesburg at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Riverdale will be paying especially close attention to the Tigers' game: after the Tigers faces off against the Silver Streaks, they'll take on Riverdale again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
