Softball Recap: Hamilton Comes Up Short

Hamilton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 7-3 to the Oak Mountain Eagles. The Aggies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Hamilton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brilyn Gilstrap, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Gilstrap also put up a hit, which washer first of the season.

Hamilton's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Oak Mountain, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamilton will venture away from home to take on Northside at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oak Mountain, they are taking a road trip to square off against Chilton County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Mountain is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
