Baseball Recap: Belmont Comes Up Short

Belmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 8-1 to the Alcorn Central Bears. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Belmont saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miller Searcy, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Belmont now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Alcorn Central, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Alcorn Central beat Belmont by a score of 7-1 on Friday.
