Baseball Game Preview: Las Vegas Wildcats vs. Bishop Gorman Gaels

For the second straight game, Las Vegas will face off against Bishop Gorman. The Wildcats will face off against the Gaels at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Las Vegas has four straight wins, Bishop Gorman has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Las Vegas is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Bishop Gorman, who was ranked second at the time (Las Vegas was ranked fourth). The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 16-7 margin over the Gaels on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

JOSEPH PONTICELLO looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, BRYDEN BULL was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. JUSTIN ROMERO was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

Las Vegas' victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Bishop Gorman, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Las Vegas hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .371. However, it's not like Bishop Gorman struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
