Football Recap: West Jefferson Starts Season with Win Against Amanda-Clearcreek

West Jefferson gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 27-20 win over the Amanda-Clearcreek Aces.

Austin Buescher had a dynamite game, throwing for 342 yards and four TDs while completing 78% of his passes, and also rushing for 38 yards. Those 38 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Jackson Beatty did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 100 receiving yards.

Coming up, West Jefferson will square off against Newark Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Amanda-Clearcreek, they will challenge Licking Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
