Basketball Game Preview: Monroe Bearcats vs. Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks

The Monroe Bearcats will head out on the road to take on the Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Monroe has nine straight wins, Marysville-Pilchuck has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, Monroe strolled past Marysville Getchell with points to spare, taking the game 51-37.

Meanwhile, Marysville-Pilchuck played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Everett, falling 68-24. The Tomahawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-13.

Monroe has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. As for Marysville-Pilchuck, their loss dropped their record down to 1-18.

Everything came up roses for Monroe against Marysville-Pilchuck in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured a 79-37 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Monroe since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
