Baseball Recap: Woodlawn Extends Home Winning Streak to 17

Woodlawn barely beat Glen Rose the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Woodlawn Bears never let the Glen Rose Beavers get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Logan Clark and Tate Hall were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Clark tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Hall didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Clark scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Hall went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hollis Holderfield, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Luke Jacks was another, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Woodlawn hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Glen Rose struck out 12 times.

Woodlawn pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Glen Rose, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodlawn will welcome Magnet Cove at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Glen Rose, they will be playing at home against Mills University Studies at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
