Softball Game Preview: Monroeville Eagles vs. Mapleton Mounties

For the second straight game, Monroeville will face off against Mapleton. The Eagles will head out to face off against the Mounties at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, Monroeville had just enough and edged out Mapleton 6-4. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Mounties: they've now won four in a row.

Payton Weilnau made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three runs.
