Suggested Video

Atlee and Glen Allen are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Raiders are taking a road trip to challenge the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Atlee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Atlee proved they can win big on Friday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Manchester, sneaking past 7-5. The win was nothing new for the Raiders as they're now sitting on three straight.

Sierra Kegley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Glen Allen never got on the board in their matchup last Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Hermitage on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Panthers. Considering the Jaguars have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Like Atlee, Glen Allen also got a great game from a two-way player: Jaidyn Tillman. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Tillman was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Maeve Haun was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Caroline Jessie was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Atlee pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Glen Allen, their record now sits at 11-4.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Atlee has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Glen Allen struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Atlee was able to grind out a solid victory over Glen Allen in their previous meeting back in April, winning 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
