Recap: Franklin-Simpson Wildcats vs. Logan County Cougars
The Franklin-Simpson Wildcats stacked a 16th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-14 win over Logan County on the road. The win was familiar territory for Franklin-Simpson who now have eight in a row.
Franklin-Simpson was led to victory by Lyniah Brown and Reesha Cawthorn. Brown scored 13 points along with five steals, while Cawthorn scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Cawthorn has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last 14 times she's played. Kloie Smith was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Franklin-Simpson pushed their record up to 24-1 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.4 points. As for Logan County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-11.
Franklin-Simpson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-42 victory vs. Greenwood on the 10th. Logan County will head out on the road to square off against Hopkinsville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
