Football Recap: Atascadero Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Atascadero was the 10-7 winner over Templeton when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Greyhounds fell 31-20 to the Eagles on Friday. The Greyhounds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Although Atascadero took the loss, they still got scores from Cooper Knoph, Damon Mitchell, and Jacob Perry.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Templeton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyler Cunningham, who rushed for 159 yards and one score, and also picked up 35 receiving yards. That's the most rushing yards Cunningham has posted since back in October of 2024. Another receiver making a difference was Colby Sims, who picked up 108 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Atascadero now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Templeton, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Atascadero will take on Santa Ynez at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates' defense has only allowed 14.7 points per game this season, so the Greyhounds' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Templeton, they will square off against Santa Maria at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Saints' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
