Volleyball Game Preview: Ashland Arrows vs. Dover Crimson Tornadoes

The Ashland Arrows are taking a road trip to challenge the Dover Crimson Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Dover will be up against a hot Ashland team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Arrows blew past West Holmes 3-0 on Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-7, 25-16, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Dover got the win against Mansfield Senior on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Dover was: they took every set by at least 20 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-4, 25-4.

Ashland better keep an eye on Quincey Werntz. She was instrumental in Dover's win, getting eight assists and five aces. Those five aces gave Werntz a new career-high. Sophie Bantum also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Dover was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 38 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Ashland's record is now 11-7. As for Dover, their record now sits at 15-2.

Ashland suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Dover when the teams last played back in September. Can the Arrows avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
