Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Henry Rhoden and Jacai Reed Lead Williams Field to Victory + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chandler, Williams Field was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Rincon/University Rangers 71-48. The Black Hawks pushed the score to 60-32 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rangers cut but never quite recovered from.

Williams Field was led to victory by Jacai Reed and Henry Rhoden. Reed went 7-for-12 on his way to 16 points, while Rhoden shot 60% from the field en route to 16 points. Brion O'Leary was another key player, shooting 50% from the field to rack up 12 points.

Williams Field was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They posted nine more assists than Rincon/University's also-impressive total of 12.

Despite the defeat, Rincon/University had strong showings from Ezra Shaffer, who went 7-for-10 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds, and Will Edwards, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards. Edwards continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Wyatt Green also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Williams Field now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Rincon/University, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Williams Field will venture away from home to take on Basha at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rincon/University will take on Sahuarita in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rangers will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.56 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
