Academy for Urban Scholars suffers ninth straight loss on the road

The Academy for Urban Scholars Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They took a 61-47 bruising from East Palestine. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Academy for Urban Scholars of the 57-34 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
East Palestine was led to victory by Kyler Bourne and Owen Jurjavicic. Bourne dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds, while Jurjavicic dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Jurjavicic scored 15 or more points. RJ May was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Academy for Urban Scholars' loss was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-12. As for East Palestine, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academy for Urban Scholars on the road again on Saturday and play against Southern at 7:00 p.m. on January 20th. As for East Palestine, they will face off against Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
