Section 1 C/D recap September 24, 2013
George Figueroa and Robert Atkins provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Hastings. The longest such play in Section 1 C/D this season, the connection resulted in 65 yards.
Dom Brescia of Rye Neck ran for the longest rushing play in the league this season against Haldane last week. Brescia ran for 85 yards on the play and finished with 94 on the day as his team bested the Blue Devils.
LUKE KERN and COREY JEAN-CHARLES gave Albertus Magnus a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. KERN threw for 189 yards and 2 touchdowns, while JEAN-CHARLES ran for 103 yards. JOE DENISE also contributed to the rushing game with 76 yards on the ground.
KERN and JEAN-CHARLES gave the Falcons a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week.
JEAN-CHARLES was the most successful running back in the league this week.
Atkins was the best receiver in Section 1 C/D this week as Yonkers Montessori Academy fell to the Yellow Jackets. Atkins tallied 6 receptions for 129 yards.
He went 9-20 with 1 interception.
KERN put up the best numbers in passing as Albertus Magnus fell to Tuckahoe. KERN's favorite target this week was GISCARD BEAUVIL, who caught 4 passes for 105 yards.
Figueroa provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Yonkers Montessori Academy lost to Hastings. He completed 7 passes for 156 yards and also ran for 77 yards.
Albertus Magnus' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Falcons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. KERN has thrown for 300 yards and 4 touchdowns this season, while BEAUVIL has 8 catches for 168 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Dobbs Ferry takes on Bronxville. The Eagles are currently in second, while the Broncos are in third.
The Tigers were the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from 10th to eighth in the league. Tuckahoe vanquished Paul Villanueva's team 42-20 earlier in the week.
