Softball Recap: Exeter Takes a Loss

After flying high against Nashua North on Monday, Exeter came back down to earth. The Blue Hawks lost 10-3 to the Salem Blue Devils on Wednesday. The Blue Hawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Jill Ryan 2028 was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Maddy Mann 2026, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Exeter now has a losing record of 2-3-1. As for Salem, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Exeter is set to take on their familiar foe Portsmouth at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Salem will face off against rival Dover at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blue Devils 4, the Green Wave 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
