Basketball Game Preview: Ravenna Bluejays vs. Elm Creek Buffaloes

The Ravenna Bluejays will square off against the Elm Creek Buffaloes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Ravenna has struggled recently with nine defeats in a row, while Elm Creek will arrive with five straight victories.

Last Friday, Ravenna had to suffer through a 67-40 loss at the hands of Arcadia/Loup City.

Meanwhile, Elm Creek didn't have too much trouble with Pleasanton on Friday as they won 72-54.

Elm Creek's win came from a few key players Ravenna will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jeremiah Shoemaker, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Quin Oberg, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 19 points in addition to eight assists and five boards.

Elm Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Elm Creek pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Ravenna, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Ravenna came up short against Elm Creek in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 55-51. Can Ravenna avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
