Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Clark's Third in Last Four Outings

Brandeis came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Clark, but Jaden Flemons wouldn't allow it. The Clark Cougars walked away with a 56-47 win over the Brandeis Broncos on Tuesday thanks in part to Flemons, who went 11 of 15 on his way to 25 points and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Clark's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Abalos, who posted four points in addition to five rebounds and four blocks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in blocks.

Several Broncos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sean Tisdall, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 16 points. Tisdall's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Karmen Gonzales, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 14 points.

Clark has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Brandeis, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.

Clark and Brandeis should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Clark (ranked 102nd) will meet SA Roosevelt (ranked 245th) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Clark is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.2 points per game this season. Similarly, Brandeis (ranked 184th) will meet Madison (ranked 592nd) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
