Soccer Game Preview: Dimond vs. West Anchorage

Dimond is on a four-game streak of home wins, while West Anchorage is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Lynx will host the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Dimond is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Eagle River, who was ranked 21st at the time (Dimond was ranked third). The Lynx put the hurt on Wolves with a sharp 13-1 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for Dimond, who have now won seven contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, West Anchorage was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They beat Chugiak by a goal, winning 2-1.

Dimond is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 39 goals over those eight matchups. As for West Anchorage, their win bumped their record up to 9-2-1.
