Football Recap: Lumberton Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Lumberton unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Nederland Bulldogs by a score of 6-3 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Raiders have suffered since September 6, 2024.

Nolan Mitchell threw for 84 yards on ten of 16 attempts. On the ground, Chase Williams rushed for 60 yards.

Lumberton is headed away from home for the first time to take on West Brook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Nederland, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against West Orange-Stark at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
