Recap: Anclote Sharks vs. Weeki Wachee Hornets
The Anclote Sharks entered their match against the Weeki Wachee Hornets on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Anclote fell 20-8 to Weeki Wachee. Anclote lost against Weeki Wachee in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 34-12 score last time.
Anclote's loss came despite strong showings from Damian Spencer and Elijah Franks. Spencer rushed for 102 yards, while Franks picked up 135 receiving yards. Franks' longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards.
Weeki Wachee was led to victory by Adrian Cabezudo and Richard Hanshaw. Cabezudo picked up 114 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Hanshaw threw for 269 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes.
Weeki Wachee's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 4.5 times. Leading the way was Tyler Ciccio and his 2.5 sacks.
Anclote is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 1-8 record this season. As for Weeki Wachee, the victory was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 2-5.
Anclote does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Weeki Wachee is also done with their season.
