Baseball Preview: Simsboro Tigers vs. Maurepas Wolves
The Simsboro Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Maurepas Wolves at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Simsboro was handed a 11-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Doyline 4-3.

Chris Harrell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Maurepas ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Family Christian 6-4. Winning may never get old, but the Wolves sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Simsboro pushed their record up to 10-9-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Maurepas, their record now sits at 8-9.
Simsboro couldn't quite get it done against Maurepas in their previous meeting back in May of 2015 as they fell 5-2. Can Simsboro avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
