Baseball Recap: Highlands Takes a Loss

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Highlands was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Valley Vikings by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Rams of the 12-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Jake King made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Sal Barbarino was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Highlands has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Valley, with the victory, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-8.

While Highlands had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
