Softball Recap: Admiral Farragut Comes Up Short

Admiral Farragut had lost seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-10 to make it eight. They lost 15-3 to the Sarasota Christian Blazers. The BlueJackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blazers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

Admiral Farragut saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooke McCarthy, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Teagan Miller was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Sarasota Christian, they now have a winning record of 7-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

On Sarasota Christian's side, Brooklyn Loftus made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Loftus was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Sarasota Christian got a massive performance out of Kinsley Grieser, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that Grieser has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elisah Zuchelli, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Admiral Farragut didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 15-4 loss against Indian Rocks Christian on the 22nd. As for Sarasota Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 10-1 defeat against Foundation Christian Academy on the 22nd.
