Softball Recap: Elk Rapids Elks vs. Mancelona Ironmen
In what's become a running theme this season, Elk Rapids gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They were the clear victor by an 11-3 margin over the Mancelona Ironmen. Winning may never get old, but Elk Rapids sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Rhielynn Skrocki was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Skrocki was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
In other batting news, Elk Rapids let Payton Friess and Haleigh Yocom loose on the outfield. Friess scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Yocom scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Elk Rapids has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-8-1 record this season. As for Mancelona, they dropped their record down to 11-5 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
