Basketball Game Preview: Gretna Hawks vs. Nelson County Governors

The Gretna Hawks will face off against the Nelson County Governors on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Gretna is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Radford by a score of 51-40.

Meanwhile, Nelson County had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points) and they went ahead and made it ten on Tuesday. They walked away with a 48-39 win over the Raiders.

Nelson County's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.9 points over those games. As for Gretna, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.
