Kirtland put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Cardinal Huskies with a sharp 13-3 win. This was payback for the Hornets, who suffered a 14-13 loss the last time these two teams met.

Max Paul spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Casey Carkhuff and Ben Difranco did most of the damage at the plate: Carkhuff scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Difranco scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Carkhuff is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Carter Luzar was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Kirtland's record now sits at 3-0. As for Cardinal, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Kirtland beat the Huskies by a score of 13-0 on Wednesday.
