Basketball Game Preview: North Valleys Panthers vs. Truckee Wolverines

North Valleys and Truckee are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The North Valleys Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Truckee Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Valleys is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.5 points per game this season.

North Valleys is headed into Friday's match hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Tahoe on Wednesday.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Isaiah White, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 20 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadyn Shackelford, who posted 13 points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, North Valleys smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Truckee can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 48-41 win over Sparks.

Truckee's victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-15. As for North Valleys, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

North Valleys strolled past Truckee when the teams last played on January 15th by a score of 54-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Valleys since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
